A wireless router is a networking device that combines the functions of a traditional wired router with those of a wireless access point. It connects to a modem and allows multiple devices to connect to a network and share an internet connection both through wired Ethernet connections and wireless Wi-Fi connections. Wireless routers manage the distribution of data packets between devices on the local network and external networks, providing connectivity for devices such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, and smart home devices.
